We are looking for someone to join our team of elves. You will be trimming pressed pieces, sanding greenware and glazed-wares, load & unload the kiln, and support your fellow elves if/when needed. Things are constantly changing with new orders coming in, so you will often be asked to switch shapes and/or stations and possibly change directions throughout the day. Some days you will sand, some days you will be trimming, or deburring, other days you will be washing, cleaning, or helping you other team members with what needs to be done in a specific time window. In essence, you will be more of a “floater” with a focus on sanding. This job involves a lot of physical labor and repetitive motions and you must be willing to get dirty and dusty on a daily basis. Come to work with the mindset that you will never stay clean. Wearing a mask is required at all times and is related to the position (not Covid). You must be able to take direction from other women and receive constructive criticism concerning the pieces being worked on. We really value a positive can-do attitude and someone who is a team player, focused and efficient, but detail-oriented with a light-hand because you will be working with extremely delicate items. Each role is an important part of the process involved in the making of our items and keeping the flow of production moving in a timely manner.

  • You will be trimming, deburring, sanding, washing , etc ...
  • Move racks and consolidate them on a weekly basis
  • Help load/unload pallets of raw material and reorganize inventory if /when needed
  • Clean items before passing them to the next stage of production
  • Organize supplies, maintain small equipment
  • Support your team members if/when they need your help
  • Clean tools, glazing supplies, buckets, and other supplies after they have been used by your team members
  • And whatever else might come up

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to lift 50 lb + [with proper form] to avoid injury
  • Have a working phone that can handle the app “Slack”
  • Can physically wear a mask all day
  • Can stand for long periods of time
  • Can walk-up and down a flight of stairs with ease a few times a day
  • Work in very hot and very cold conditions
  • Accept direction from other women
  • Good at working with your hands and with small power & air tools
  • Have great eye/hand coordination
  • Good in dusty & noisy environment
  • Must have attention to detail, methodical and logical
  • Have a positive attitude and respectful to all
  • Must be resilient and have a curious mind with a willingness to learn
  • Able to switch tasks quickly aka adaptable VERY IMPORTANT
  • Must be respectful and supportive of other women
  • Able to do simple calculations, read and write basic English
  • Punctual and reliable
  • A great communicator
  • Must be street smart !!!
  • Leave your ego and attitude at the door and be ready to work
  • You must have all proper paperwork for on-boarding including a valid photo ID
